More than a decade ago, during a casual visit to a friend, we stumbled upon an abandoned lot; wild, silent, and full of untamed beauty. In that instant, something in our hearts said this is it. I turned to my wife and said, “This will be ours.” Later that same day, we asked around and learned the land belonged to a Colombian who lived abroad. We called him, and with a bit of luck and laughter, he said, “I’ll sell it.” One week later, our dream began.

The journey wasn’t easy, just full of heart. With the help of our family and friends, we spent weekends clearing brush, removing debris, and giving life back to the land. Little by little, we built our first small cabin, a humble space where we would spend nights under a sky full of stars, waking to the sound of birds and the peace of nature. Soon after, our first “visitors” arrived, three playful donkeys who became part of our story and brought even more warmth and joy to our growing home.
